The Rochester Area Broomball League is hosting a broomball tournament in Rochester (technically, in Kasson) in August. It is going to take place Saturday, August 30, and it will be a draft-style tournament, to ensure that teams are equally balanced. There will be 6 teams (6 goalies and 60 position players max) and the entry fee will be $30/person. A host hotel lined up, and they are working on a pub crawl and other evening entertainment (live band).
The following day they will be holding the Rochester edition of the St. Paul Barons 4-person scramble golf tournament at Maple Valley Golf Course, south of Rochester, MN. This tourney is also open to anyone, will be $260/team, and will include golf with cart, a catered lunch, and prizes in the form of additional raffle tickets for the 3 flight winners. The golf tourney will begin at 9AM and run probably into late afternoon (4ish?), so that leaves plenty of time for travelers to return home. |
